Summer Blitz and Family Fun Day!
This summer we are having our Summer Blitz Raffle where students can earn tickets in the months of June, July and August. The raffle itself will take place during our Family Fun Day on Sunday, September 12th and will feature many cool prizes for youths and adults. There are many ways to earn tickets including: 1 for every class you attend, 1 for sending the Dojo a postcard from your vacation, 1 for wearing a Dojo shirt during a "T-Shirt Week", 5 if you bring a guest to a friend's day, 10 for a karate camp, and 25 if you refer a guest who signs up. The grand prize for kids will be a choice of a Nintendo Wii, or XBox 360, or a $200 Spending Spree at Toys'R'Us. The adult grand prize will be a choice of either a Nintendo Wii, $200 spending spree at the Capitola Mall, or 2 tickets for the Chardonnay II and $100 Crow's Nest certificate.
T-Shirt Week is July 26th-30th:
Students are encouraged to wear a Dojo shirt during this week in all classes. Wearing a Dojo shirt will earn you an extra raffle ticket too! Students should wear their shirt with their uniform (gi) pants and belt tied over the shirt.
Defeat the Grappler Class:
We will be holding a special class on Friday, July 16th at 6-7pm that will focus on defending against take downs and grappling techniques. This is the perfect opportunity for students who have expressed an interest in Aiki and Jujutsu. This class is open to ages 15 and up, and all ranks/belts are welcome. Women must wear a undershirt and all students are advised to wear a heavier uniform if they have one. If this class is well received, then we will schedule it as an ongoing program for those who wish to augment their regular training.
Youth Summer Karate Camps:
This summer we will be holding three youth karate camps at our dojo. The dates are: June 21st-25th, July 19th-23rd, and August 16th-20th. They all run monday through friday and are 9am-3pm. New students ages 7 and up are welcome too. Students can earn up to three months of rank in their first camp! Also, each camp has special curriculum to be taught: Practical Self Defense and Aiki-Jujutsu in June, Nunchaku Kata in July, and Tanto (wooden knife) Kata in August. The July and August weapons camps include the actual weapon in the cost too! Early sign up discount is $25 off by the end of May. And if you bring a friend or sibling to camp who doesn't train, it's another $25 discount. Sign up at the dojo.
